Fitness Challenge
Begin your visit at Washington Park MAX Station and immediately take on one of the Park’s most rewarding climbs, heading uphill past the Vietnam Veterans of Oregon Memorial and onto the Wildwood Trail. The route steadily gains elevation as you move deeper into the forest, offering shaded switchbacks, quiet overlooks, and a true “urban wilderness” feel.
Continue through Hoyt Arboretum, where interconnected trails wind beneath towering trees and allow for flexible loops depending on your pace and fitness level. From there, make your way toward the upper Park areas for a well-earned cooldown.
Finish at the International Rose Test Garden with a slower-paced stroll among thousands of roses and wide-open views of Mt. Hood and the city skyline—a fitting contrast to the climb that came before it, and a satisfying end to a movement-focused day in the Park.
