Washington Park honors its veteran community year-round, from admission benefits at several Park attractions to accessible pathways near popular memorials.

Admission

Several paid attractions in Washington Park periodically offer free or reduced admission for veterans and active-duty military on select days, such as Veterans Day. Policies vary by attraction and may change seasonally. Visitors should check each attraction’s official website for current eligibility and details.

  • All year: World Forestry Center’s Discovery Museum offers free admission for active-duty military members and veterans.

  • All year: Oregon Zoo offers $3 off regular admission for active-duty military members and veterans who show a military or veteran organization ID, discharge papers, or other official military identification.

  • On Veterans Day: Portland Japanese Garden offers free admission for active military personnel, military veterans and their families who accompany them. Families of deployed military personnel also get free admission to the Garden on Veterans Day.

  • Rose Festival Fleet Week: Portland Japanese Garden offers free admission for all active military personnel. To receive free admission, active members of the military must show a military ID, discharge papers or other official military identification.
