Begin your visit by arriving car-free at the Washington Park MAX Station, then make your way to the Oregon Zoo for a morning of discovery. Take your time visiting favorite animals like elephants, penguins, and sea otters, with plenty of opportunities to pause, snack, and explore at a kid-friendly pace.

When energy starts to dip, hop on the Washington Park Free Shuttle Loop for a relaxing ride through the Park. Ride 6 stops until you reach the International Rose Test Garden. From there, it’s a short 0.2-mile walk to the Rose Garden Children’s Park, where kids can climb, swing, and play while adults recharge.

This itinerary balances animals, movement, and play, making it an easy, flexible way to spend a full morning or afternoon in Washington Park with younger kids.
